I wanted to share something that I heard recently and have been pondering.
The scripture is Mark 2:4 (NIV) - Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on.
The analogy was, the closer the paralyzed man got to Jesus, the further away he was going from his friends.
I am thinking that surely his friends were believers; after all, he could not get to Jesus on his own, he was carried by the four of them to Jesus. When Jesus saw their faith, he healed the paralyzed man (Mark 2:5).
The analogy may or may not be applicable to the story in Mark 2:4 but bears some truth in reality.
Have you ever encountered something like this in your life, in that, the closer you got to Jesus, you started getting further away from some of your friends?
