This is an interesting question.
Our battle position should be on our knees before God, seeking Him and His direction for the battle in front of us.
Sometimes when these things happen, we throw a fit, cry, mope and try to understand why this is happening to us. We do not need to always understand what God is doing. Whatever He is doing is for Him to get the glory and for His name to be glorified.
A few lyrics from the popular song “Surrounded”
This is how I fight my battles
It may look like I'm surrounded but I'm surrounded by You
When we are surrounded by God, we need not worry about how big the battle is or if we are going to win. God got this and when He got it, we never need to worry about anything. We should ensure that we give Him the glory when we are victorious and win the battle.
But Moses answered, “Don’t be afraid! Be brave, and you will see the Lord save you today. These Egyptians will never bother you again. The Lord will fight for you, and you won’t have to do a thing.”
The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you keep calling out to me for help? Tell the Israelites to move forward. Then hold your walking stick over the sea. The water will open up and make a road where they can walk through on dry ground. I will make the Egyptians so stubborn that they will go after you. Then I will be praised because of what happens to the king and his chariots and cavalry. The Egyptians will know for sure that I am the Lord.” – Exodus 14:13-18 (CEV) (underline added for emphasis)
