I recently read the bible verse below and was pondering on it. The verse, to paraphrase is “Consider it a joy when you are faced with trials.” I was thinking why would I consider it a joy when I am facing a trial?
Then God open my eyes of understanding and gave me a glimpse into the verse.
We should consider it a joy when we face trials because we get to see the awesome power of God as we allow Him to lead us through the trial. The closer we get to God, we realize that we cannot go through any trial (and life) without Him. As soon as we acknowledge and accept this, that’s when the joy shows up. Because even if He does not answer our prayer the way we want or expect Him to, He is still God and He is still there for us.
Whatever you are going through today, you do not need to do it alone. Let go and let God.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. – James 1:2-3 (NIV)
